Plus:
* Everyone very friendly and helpful.
* I was there on a weeknight, so there was plenty of capacity in the hut and the supervisor gave me an 8-bunk room all to myself -- what luxury!!
* There were an abundance of unisex toilet stalls, several on each floor, and nobody ever had to wait. Again, a luxury. (In comparison: in one hut I once visited there was literally just one toilet stall for 50 people.)
* Beer on tap -- a treat I really enjoy and something not normally found in a mountain hut.

Minus:
* Biggest disappointment was the evening meal. The standard menu plate had a chicken leg (thigh and drumstick) with rice on the side. The meat was clearly overcooked, spent far too much time in the oven. The skin was almost burnt, the meat was dry. A disappointment. But I had no breakfast or lunch that day and was extremely hungry, so even so I finished everything. Also, in most huts you are served family style, and there is plenty to go around if you want a second portion. Here you are served a plate, and I didn't see anyone get an extra portions.
* There is no potable water at all; if you want drinking water you have to purchase it. That fact should be mentioned on the website. If I recall correctly, it was CHF 6.00 for 1.5 liters, so no deals there. There is also a stated limit of 1 liter of hiking tea per person (although if you have a 1.5 liter bottle, they will fill it).

freundliches Personal, sehr leckeres Essen

Sowohl von der Terrasse als auch vom Balkon des Zimmers hatte ich einen herrlichen Blick auf die Freiburger Voralpen. Das Soldatenhaus liegt wunderschön neben den Gastlosen und bietet sich als Etappenziel bestens an. Ich war in einem sehr grossen Zimmer mit 10 Betten (davon 4 belegt) untergebracht. Trotz vieler Gäste war es nachts sehr ruhig und es kam weder bei den Toiletten, noch an den Waschtischen zu Staus.
Auch die Essensausgabe verlief absolut reibungslos und die Bedienung an der Theke erfolgte jeweils prompt.
Das einzige, was ich mir wünschen würde, wäre warmes Wasser und vielleicht sogar eine Dusche. Vor allem, wenn es mal nicht so warm ist.

toller Ort,

Nous avons atteint le chalet en fin d'un après-midi sous un soleil radieux puis bénéficié d'un coucher de soleil magnifique ce qui bien sûr enjolive notre appréciation. Nous avons été très bien reçu et avons dégusté nos repas avec appétit et plaisir. C'était très bien dans une ambiance conviviale. Merci et bravo !

Ensemble très satisfaisant, de l'accueil souriant au départ le lendemain en passant par le dîner agrémenté de cor des Alpes et au confort des dortoirs. Ne manquait que la petite douche chaude pour que cela soit parfait mais on reste dans un refuge donc cela ne pose pas de problème.
Je conseille sans réserve pour un petit séjour en famille, une nuit en amoureux ou comme comme quand de base pour l'accès aux voies d'escalade.
